managing an account means responding to what happens.
performance drops, you investigate. client complains, you fix something. platform changes, you adapt.
operating an account means having a system that finds problems before they compound.
the difference is not about working harder. it's about having checkpoints that run whether or not something looks wrong.
in practice it looks like this: the account manager notices the CPA went up in week 3 of the month and spends a day figuring out why. the account operator already ran a conversion audit in week 1 and flagged the duplicate tag that caused it. the problem is the same. the operator caught it before it ran for three weeks.
the skills in the pack are designed for account operators. not because managers can't use them, but because the value compounds when you run them consistently, not just when something breaks.
/monday-audit is the clearest example of this. it's not useful because it tells you things you couldn't find manually. it's useful because it runs every monday, before the client call, whether you have time that week or not. consistency is the differentiator, not capability.
if you've been managing accounts reactively and you're tired of being in catch-up mode, the pack is the toolset I use to run a proactive practice: https://paidmedialab.com/pack
if the problem is deeper than tooling, the Revenue Forensics engagement is what I do when an account needs someone to go through it systematically: https://paidmedialab.com/book
